Former Co-Chair of Momentum and independent councillor in Worthing. A key figure on the Labour left, Hilary was elected as a Labour councillor but resigned from the Party in May 2024 after eight years as a Labour member and resigned from Momentum after two years as Co-Chair.
A chartered psychologist with over 25 years' experience in activism, community engagement, and local authority strategic development. Carl led the launch of Psychologists Against Austerity, stood twice for the National Health Action Party on an anti-NHS privatisation platform, and served as Deputy Leader of Worthing Council. He left Labour in May 2024 to serve his community as an independent councillor in Worthing.
Previously an elected member of the Momentum National Coordinating Group. Andrew resigned from Labour in 2025 and is now active in supporting independent and Green councillor candidates across the country.
We Deserve Better was launched in 2024 by Owen Jones following his resignation from the Labour Party after 24 years as a member. Since then we have backed socialist candidates winning seats from the Greens, as independents, and from inside Labour itself.
